Caleb Paul Kortokrax (b. 1987) is an American painter whose work is born of daily observation. Created from life, his paintings are a record of a durational transaction between himself and a person/place/object. The paintings develop into living vessels holding histories of subjective perceptual experimentation and growth. Using strings, compasses, sticks, plumb bobs, wire grids, and a critical devotion to vision and paint, his surfaces are transformed into fully-breathing, material responses to this life.

Kortokrax currently resides in Baltimore, MD and is pursuing his MFA at Maryland Institute College of Art in the LeRoy E. Hoffberger School of Painting.
